One of the biggest perks of being a member of the Viacom family is the exposure I get to all the genres of music that I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing along my life's road to date. Vh1 Classic, a channel devoted to classic rock, metal and other what I'll loosely call "wayback music," has been heavily promoting the second season of "That Metal Show." The show is basically "The View" meets "Headbangers Ball" and, even for a metal newbie like me, is thirty minutes you won't wish could to be returned to you.

In an attempt to give myself a crash course on the genre, I've been rocking out to an Iron Maiden playlist on Youtube (wait, I shouldn't mention the Y-word and Viacom in the same paragraph should I? Sorry Uncle Sumner). After only a couple of songs, I've heard enough to call myself a Maidenite-in-training. I've been able to accomplish a surprising amount of tasks (sans posting this entry) with synths, drums, riffs, and screams serenading me and causing incessant foot-tapping. How about that?
